The nominees for the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards are in, and the event is quickly approaching. Burna Boy and Odumodublvck are proudly representing Nigeria this year. Burna Boy is vying for the Best Live Performer title against such industry heavyweights as Kendrick Lamar, Cardi B, and Drake. Alongside Ghetts, Stefflon Don, and other international performers, Odumodublvck is competing for the title of Best International Flow.
For the third year in a row, Fat Joe will reprise his roles as co-executive producer and host of the program. The ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, October 8, in Las Vegas. One week later, on Tuesday, October 15, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, it will be broadcast on BET.
Megan Thee Stallion has a staggering 12 nominations, which puts her at the top of the pack. In the Hip-Hop Artist of the Year category, women have now equaled men, which is a historic milestone for this year. Megan, Cardi B, GloRilla, Nicki Minaj, 21 Savage, Drake, Future, and Kendrick Lamar are among the candidates.
“This year’s nominees exemplify the creativity and diversity of hip-hop and the culture,” said Connie Orlando, EVP of Specials, Music Programming, and Music Strategy at BET, in her admiration of the finalists.
