To further tackle the third wave of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic, the Delta State government has announced a compulsory vaccination for all civil servants in the state.
A circular obtained by our reporter, on Friday, September 17th 2021, signed by the Head of Service (HoS), Mr. Reginald Bayoko, disclosed that the vaccination exercise would commence 20th September through 6th October 2021.
This is coming after a similar directive was past 5th of March 2021, on COVID-19 pandemic and enforcement of preventive protocols in the State public service.
“Further to our circular Ref No. HOS 115/38 on 5th March 2021, on the above-mentioned subject and the subsequent outbreak of the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the State Executive Council has directed that all public servants in the state should be vaccinated.
“Arising from the foregoing, the Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency, has set up COVID-19 vaccination sites at the State Government Secretariat. The exercise will commence from Monday, 20th September to 6th October 2021”.
The circular directed all Permanent Secretaries (PSs) and Heald of extra Ministerial Departments to ensure that all staff in the various MDAs participate in the exercise “without fail”, adding that the content of the circular should be brought to all Staff for their information, guidance and compliance.
