The International Breweries Plc has described the intervention of the Osun state governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola in preventing the people of the state from the spread of the deadly Covid-19 pandemic as a good omen in preventing life.
The Company’s Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs Department, Mrs. Temitope Oguntokun, made this known during her official visit to the state Commissioner of Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode to inform the government about the 50th anniversary of the breweries coming up towards the end of the year.
Mrs Oguntokun who was highly elated about the roles played by the Osun state government in stemming the tide and spread of the dreaded coronavirus through mass sensitisation and enlightenment programmes carried out through the state Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation said the efforts of the incumbent government in the state in protecting and preventing people cannot be overemphasised.
The Director who reiterated the readiness of the IB Plc in demonstrating necessary support to the state government assured that the breweries would not relent in demonstrating its socio and economic responsibility saying the essence of the visit was basically to appreciate the governor and his administration as well as soliciting government’s adequate support towards a successful 50th-anniversary celebration of the breweries.
The Commissioner while welcoming the IB Plc’s team to her office, said Governor Oyetola put a high premium on citizens welfare as his administration aimed at making life more bearable for all.
While describing Mr Governor as people’s friendly who always prepared to put smiles on their faces, Mrs Egbemode informed the team that plans are underway by the governor to increase the number of beneficiaries of Osun monthly food support Scheme which presently caters for thirty thousand people monthly.
Commending the company for its contributions to the growth and development of Ilesha and the larger Society in the last 50 years, Mrs Egbemode congratulated it for its tenacity of purpose in keeping its dreams and aspirations aloft in the last 5 decades.
Mrs Egbemode on behalf of Governor Oyetola, however, congratulated the entire management of the IB Plc on their landmark and extended a hand of fellowship to them saying their own celebration also coincides with a time the state looks forward in few days time to mark its 30th year of existence.
On the entourage of the IB Plc’s Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs were the Company Secretary, Barrister Muyiwa Ayojimi and the Corporate Affairs Manager of Ilesa plant, Mr Adewole Lawal.
