Cracks in Abia APC as Hon. Onyejiocha accuses Senator Kalu of sabotaging party

The cracks in the Abia state All Progressives Congress may have widened following the open accusation on Tuesday by Hon. Nkiru Onyejiocha that Senate majority Chief Whip, Orji Uzor kalu is sabotaging the progress of the party in the state.

Hon.Onyejiocha, who is also the House of Representatives majority Chief Whip made the allegation during the party’s presidential rally at the Umuahia Township Stadium, said the former Abia state Governor, who is also seeking re election for the Abia North senatorial district seat at the red chambers, has been undermining the interest of the party in the state.

Kalu was conspicuously absent at the rally and has not shown physical presence at any APC major event in the state in recent times.

It would be recalled that while his younger brother, Mascot Kalu is in the race for Abia governorship, under the platform of Action Peoples Party (APP), the former governor supported the former minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Uche Ogah, who is also claiming to be the APC governorship candidate in Abia state, as against Uche Emenike, who is recognized by both the APC and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Reacting to the absent of Senator Kalu at the APC presidential rally, Onyejeocha who served as Commissioner under Kalu, accused him of sabotaging the party in the state while claiming to be a chieftain of APC in Abuja.

She, however, averred that despite any sabotage by Kalu and his agents, APC in the state was firm and enjoyed the support of the major stakeholders and the national leadership of the party.

The four-time lawmaker who said that both Kalu and herself come from the same senatorial district declared that no act of sabotage would undermine the party’s fortunes in the forthcoming polls.

She urged APC members and supporters to remain united and focused and ignore the unpatriotic activities of saboteurs.
