Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress APC, in Delta State, said ” We are very confident that at the end of the day, we will be declared the next governor of Delta state”.
Omo-Agege spoke shortly after he voted at his Ward 2, unit 19, Oromonu Orogun, in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State.
” Well, I am excited to have had the privilege and opportunity to have cast my vote. Today is the big day. For so long we have been appealing, going to all nooks and crannies of the state to market our agenda. The die is cast, today is the day. I have cast my vote.”
The Deputy President of the Senate noted that the assessment so far, his party APC is going to win the governorship election.
” We believe we are going to win, no doubt about that. That has been the feelers on the ground for more than a month. The momentum was there all along coming into the polling today. So I expect that at the end of the day we will be declared the winner.”
” Having said that, the PDP entered this contest with a predetermination to ensure that attacks are launched in polling units across the state, most especially here in Delta Central to destroy the votes.”
According to him, ” Since morning, we have received reports of attacks in Evwreni. We’ve received the same in Ughelli South, at Oteri, Ughelli and we understand that some mischiefs have been going on since last night at Gbaramatu-Oporoza, Warri Southwest.”
” We are getting security agents to respond. They are responding but it does appear that they are a bit overwhelmed. Here we are out trying to protect our zone, trying to protect our votes. We have voted to protect, they don’t have votes to protect so they will just attack, attack and attack. Be that as it may, we are very confident that at the end of the day, we will be declared the next governor of Delta state.”
