Engr. Obioma Success Akagburuonye has urged Christians to honour and appreciate the grace of God over their lives no matter how little it seems to them.
Engr. Akagburuonye, who gave the admonition on Sunday during his thanksgiving service at the Assemblies of God Church, Ogbor Uvuru, Aboh Mbaise, Imo State, stated that sleeping and waking everyday is by the grace of God and should not be taken for granted.
He recounted how one Minister of God downplayed a testimony of how God healed a testifier of a headache, believing that it is ordinary, and the dire consequence of a migraine that befell him, noting that no matter how little grace of God may seem, it is a great miracle. He advised the congregants to always give thanks to God no matter the situation.
The real estate mogul did thanksgiving to God for journey mercies having left the country in November, 2024 and travelled to different parts of the world.
Engr. Success Akagburuonye, who is also a Lawyer, emphasised the need and importance of worshipping God and remaining in His presence always, noting that he would recommend an all day worship on Sundays, if possible.
“You know in our culture here, we are short of giving God thanks – for instance, from Monday to Saturday you are doing your own business, sometimes we do overtime but when you are in the presence of God you want to go – where are you going to and what are you going to do? If I have my way I would recommend that every Sunday we should worship God from morning to night.
“I’m a living witness to what God is doing so when I tell you thank God, worship God, I’m telling you from my personal experience,” he stated.
He recounted how his local Church – the Assemblies of God, Ogbor Uvuru used to be laughing stock due to the capacity of the members, thanking God for His grace to have reversed the narratives, even with the construction of the state-of-the-art church auditorium, ‘The Noah’s Ark’.
Stating the significance of the edifice, built in the image and likeness of the Biblical Noah’s Ark, Chief Obioma Akagburuonye explained that God used the Ark to save His people, those who believed and trusted Him, adding that even though people laughed at Noah when he was building the Ark but when the flood came God in His infinite mercies allowed even the slowest creeping animal to come in and all that boarded the Ark were saved.
He said that since God blessed him he does not discriminate even against those that castigated and treated him badly, he embraces them and assists them to the chargrin of his relatives who knew about the ill-treatments.
Narrating his life ordeals and how it pleased God to bless and elevate him despite all odds, he vowed to serve Him with all his life and resources, adding, “It is a law now that if you’re not interested in the things of God you don’t even come near me.”
Chief Akagburuonye, the Akaraugo of Mbaise, used the medium to inaugurate the committees for the dedication of ‘The Noah’s Ark’, enjoining the members to make impactful contributions.
He praised the leadership of the Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, urging the church to support his programmes and administration.
In a homily, Rev. Dr G.C. Akwuroha, extolled Engr. Obioma Success Akagburuonye’s love for God and the Kingdom upliftment.
In his sermon titled: ‘Redeeming the Time’, the Man of God, reading from Ephesians chapter 5 verses 16 and 17, told the congregation that there is an urgency to redeem the time. He admonished christians to make the best use of every opportunity for whatever task given to them, whether in the church, family or society.
He urged the congregation to avoid procrastination and delay to do what God has asked them to do, encouraging them not to delay. “Don’t delay because delay is dangerous,” he admonished.
Rev. Don Njoku, thanked Engr. Akagburuonye for all he is doing for the body of Christ, and prayed fervently for him for more God’s guidance, favour and good health. He assured him that Assemblies of God Church will always support his endeavours and ambition.
