The Department of State Security( DSS) has summarily dismissed one Mr.Alex Agbaeze from service for attacking Barr. Chinedum Elechi, the Abia state Peoples Democratic party (PDP) Governorship campaign Director General on13th November 2022, without provocation.
After investigating the petition filed by Barr. Elechi that he ,Alex Agbaeze , had on Sunday 13th November 2022, attacked Barr. Elechi , in the broad daylight along Azikiwe road Umuahia, inflicting on him life threatening matchet cuts on the head, left and right hands without provocation was on Tuesday 10th, January, summarily dismissed from service and handed over to the police for prosecution.
Reacting on the decision taken by DSS to hand over their officer to the police for prosecution after dismissing him from service to our reporter in Umuahia on Wednesday, Barr Elechi thanked DSS for doing what is right, as it will serve a as lesson to others that being a DSS Officer don’t give you the right to infringe on people’s right.
According to him ,”I am happy with the report that he has been summarily dismissed from the service. As a result of his unprovoked attack, I underwent a major repair surgery at the Federal Medical Center Umuahia, on my left arm. I was in the hospital for 16 days and I am currently undergoing physiotherapy.
“I thank the DSS at the State and national level and the police for doing the needful. I hope this case serves as a warning to erring and rogue law enforcement agents that this sort of nonsense must stop, “Barr Elechi stated.
Meanwhile, the Abia state police command on Tuesday10th, January 2023,has dragged the dismissed DSS Officer,Mr. Alex Agbaeze before Umuahia Magistrate Court, arraigning him on a 3-count charge of attempted murder, assault causing grievous bodily harm and malicious damage to properly.
