Victor Boniface, the striker for Bayer Leverkusen, will be out for a while due to an injury.
While on international service with Nigeria this week, Boniface reportedly suffered a thigh injury, according to the German daily BILD.
In Monday night’s 2-1 home loss to Rwanda in Uyo, the 23-year-old played for 87 minutes.
Because of the injury, the forward was unable to participate in Thursday’s training.
After having surgery for an adductor issue last season, Boniface missed three months of action.
The Nigerian is anticipated to miss this weekend’s Bundesliga match between Leverkusen and Heidenheim.
This season, he has made 15 appearances for Die Werkself in all competitions, scoring eight goals.
