The Traditional ruler of Ebonyi State, C.P Aliyu Garba has stated his readiness to partner all the traditional rulers in Ebonyi, Abakaliki in the fight against crime and criminality.
C.P Aliyu promised to carry along all relevant stakeholders in the security palace in tackling the prevailing security challenges facing the State.
The CP gave the reassurance when he paid a courtesy visit to the State Council of Traditional Rulers Chambers under the Chairmanship of HRH Ezeogo Charles Mkpuma at No. 1 Onwe Road Abakaliki.
The Ebonyi Police Boss commended the Royal Fathers for their continued support for the Command and appealed to them to join hands with him in the fight against Crime and Criminality in the state by enlighting members of their Communities especially the youths to desist from taking laws into their hands and embrace peace so that Ebonyi State can reclaim its name as the most peaceful State in the Country.
The CP noted that “it’s very important for me to interact and rub mind with Traditional Rulers, tap from their wealth of wisdom to proffer solution to the numerous security challenges in the State.
“One of the mechanisms to actualize me mission is to build robust relationship with the Traditional Rulers and other members of the public for credible information that will assist the Police to achieve effective Policing, identify Crime Prone Areas, Boundary Disputes, Community clashes, then dialogue in Townhall Meetings on the way forward.”
The Royal fathers on their part appreciated the visit of the Commissioner of Police and the hand of friendship extended to them.
they noted that CP Aliyu is the first Commissioner of Police to leave the confine of his office to visit the Royal Chamber.
They further assured the CP of adequate support towards fighting crimes and lawlessness in Ebonyi State.
The Ebonyi State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Odah Loveth Obiajulu noted in her release that the CP also had an interactive session with Fulani Herders where the herders complained bitterly on the incessant attack on their settlements by suspected IPOB members at the different location in the State.
The CP appealed to the herders to remain calm and law-abiding as he has ordered full-scale investigation to their complaints with a view to arresting the perpetrators for possible prosecution.
