Edo: APC names Odubu, Ize -Iyamu Urhoghide, Afegbua 20 others as Obaseki inaugurates transition committee today
Former deputy governor, Pius Odubu, will lead former governorshiip candidate, Osagie Ize – Iyamu,  Mathew Urhoghide, Kazeem Afegbua and others to represent the All Progressives Congress (APC) and it’s governor elect, Senator Monday Ukpeholo in the Edo State transition government  which will inaugurated to in Benin city
The Edo State Government announced on Thursday that the Joint Transition Committee for the inauguration of a new government on November 12, 2024, will be inaugurated on Friday, October 18, 2024.
The Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, who made the announcement at a press briefing, stated that the event will be held at the John Odigie-Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA).
The committee consists of a 24-member transition committee nominated by the All Progressives Congress (APC), whose candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, won the governorship election in the state on September 21, 2024. Members from the state government side will be headed by the Secretary to the Edo State Government (SSG), Joseph Eboigbe.
Nehikhare mentioned that the state government has received the names of the APC Transition Committee members in response to an earlier letter written by the state government to the party.
“The primary objective of the Transition Committee is to facilitate a smooth handover of government. We look forward to the collaborative efforts of all members in ensuring a seamless transition,” Nehikhare emphasized.
Members of the committee from the state government side include: Mr. Joseph Eboigbe, SSG/Chairman; Eire Ifueko Alufohai, Secretary/Coordinator; Mr. Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, Advisor; Isoken Omo, Advisor; Joan Oviawe, Advisor; Mr. Igberaese G.O, Member; and Enabulele Ferguson, Member.
Others include: Anelu Julius, Member; Mr. Efe Iserhienrhien, Member; Mrs. Osaro Aihie, Member; Mrs. Igbinogbaro Bose Joy, Member; Yuwa Naps, Member; Mr. Jude Ekpu, Member; Dr. Stanley Ehiarimwian, Member; Mrs. Akhigbe Joy, Member; and Mrs. Imuetinyan Akin-Omyajowo, Member.
