Presidential aspirant on the platform of Accord Party , Prof. Christopher Imumolen, Thursday, said reaching out to the former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to notify him of his political ambition and seek for his fatherly advice is a tonic that has fired his presidential ambition in the forthcoming general elections in the country.
This was contained in a statement signed by him and made available to newsmen in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
He said Obasanjo’s insight is deep and global and that as one man who has in recent times spoken out on critical national matters, he and some other respected stakeholders, are forces to be reckoned with when it comes to the nation’s politics; “Chief Obasanjo is a father with great reputation.”
“He has spoken out strongly on national issues just like very few others.I came to visit him for consultation, counsels and prayers.
“Those of us who want to be president to change the leadership matrix need these sets of persons”, Imumolen said.
While speaking on his reasons for joining the presidential race, Imumolen said he wants to be president to change the leadership narratives of Nigeria, stressing that as someone who is freed of past political stains, and a successful private sector player, he is patriotic and zealous to evolve policies for national integration, economic development and prosperity of all facets of Nigeria.
The presidential aspirant said he is ready to tackle the current national challenges by adopting a sincere team that is driven by the spirit of true rebirth that will restore hope, prosperity and international image, urging Nigerians to support his bid to become the president of the most populous black nation in the world.
