Education still solution to Insecurity in Nigeria – Gov’ship candidate

The governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party ZLP, Dr Obiorah Okonkwo has called on Nigerians to see quality education as a veritable means to solving insecurity in Nigeria.
Dr Okonkwo, the candidate of the ZLP for the November 6 Governorship election in Anambra state, regretted that the government had not provided the requisite facilities to enhance the education system.
He added that every government should partner with private individuals or establishments to provide a necessary conducive environment that would promote academic excellence.
Okonkwo stated this while receiving the Association of Private School Owners, at his home town, Ogidi.
He said when elected, he would set up talent schools to harness talented youths and as well create an environment that would provide more jobs to enable them to engage meaningfully in their respective discipline.
According to him, “if you learn everything without utilizing it, it will be a waste of talent. My government will create an environment that will attract investments in different areas of life, to promote Productivity.
“Quality Education is a critical part of my administration. I excel in education due to the quality foundation I received as a child.
“When you educated a child, he will know that blood his sacred and would refrain from kidnapping and other forms of terrorism
“I Will create Public-Private Partnership where the government will extent certain counterpart funding for certain schools that meet a standard.
“Will continue emphasizing on technical education which will be part of my administrative policy to ensure every child graduating from any school will attain technical education.
“I have commenced a partnership with the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, on research to ascertain how to  modernise major markets in Anambra.” He said.
Okonkwo also revealed his plans to promote sports and offer free education to children in various schools through his foundation.
In his reaction, the leader of the delegation, Dr Uzochukwu Solomon, commended Dr Okonkwo for his great plans for Anambra, promising to support his Governorship dream.
