Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly seized Obi Cubana’s international passport as the agency debunked the rumours making rounds about his release from detention.
This comes after there were reports that the Anambra-born billionaire had regained his freedom and made a post via his Instagram page appreciating everyone for their support.
Obinna Iyiegbu, aka Obi Cubana, for money laundering and tax fraud by EFCC on Monday, 1st November 2021, was interrogated by the commission’s operatives.
However, a recent report has shown that the 46-year-old into the hospitality and entertainment business is yet to regain his freedom but has been granted administrative bail based on the condition of holding an individual after 24 hours.
The conditions for the administrative bail are yet to be met at the time of the report and his international passport has been seized to restrict his movements out of the country.
The billionaire socialite became more prominent after the burial celebration of his late mother. Since then many people had questioned his source of wealth, while some had regarded him as a hard worker and businessman.
