A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Chief Patrick Egone has commended Governor Sherrif Oborevwori for appointing Honourables Onoriode Agofure and Reuben Izeze into his cabinet as commissioners.
The Ughelli North Local Government Area PDP chieftain specifically gave kudos to the governor for saddling as Agofure with Transport, and Izeze, Works (Higher and Urban Roads) ministries.
Egone, who was a former member of Delta State Advisory and Peace-Building Council, gave the commendation in a chat with newsmen on Thursday in Ughelli.
The elder statesman noted that both appointees merited their respective appointments and assured that they will diligently discharge their functions in those new roles.
The former President of Ughelli Descendants Union (UDU) further lauded the governor for including the youths into is cabinet to serve as commissioners and members of the State Executive Council.
“Hon Onoriode Agofure, the Commissioner for Transport, is a young and grassroot politician and immediate past Deputy Leader of Ughelli North legislative arm.
“When he served as a councilor representing Agbarho Ward I, he did very well and performed beyond expectations by executing projects for his people. I am confident that he will also do well as Commissioner for Transport and member of State Executive Council,” the party chieftain stated.
He also congratulated all the 26 newly inaugurated commissioners on their appointments, and charged them to show genuine commitment to the realization of the governor’s M.O.R.E agenda for Delta State.
“As an elder statesman, and a leader in the party (PDP), mine is to pray for His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sherrif Oborevwori to succeed. Let me also advise the new Commissioners to collectively support and effectively key into the governor’s plan to uplift and develop the state,” the retired Major stated.
