BY AKUDORO GLORIA

The Prime Minister of Biafra Republic Government In-Exile (BRGIE), Simon Ekpa, has wooed Biafrans allover the globe to apply for Biafra National Identity Card as it is the hope for a better future.

Ekpa made this call in a video that is making wave via his official X handle showing Biafrans living in Ivory Coast undertaking registration to obtain the Biafra National Identity Card.

Comparing the process, Ekpa mocked the Nigerian National identity card, and the Nigerian government, noting that obtaining the Biafra identification card is easier and more reliable.

In his word: “The Biafra National Identity Card application centre in Ivory Coast. Biafrans allover the world are happy and identifying with the Biafra government because that is the only hope for better future. Compare this with Nigeria and see the difference. No mago mago, we are setting standard.”

Meanwhile, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) had recently disclosed that only 110 million Nigerians has so far registered for the National Identification Number (NIN), a 2.4 per cent increase from the 107.34 million recorded in May.

However, BRGIE recently declared a commitment to the Biafra Declaration on 2nd December 2024.
This comes amid continued marginalization by the Nigerian government.

Since 2021, Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra was arrested by the Nigerian Government and has been under detention by the Department of State Security Service.
