The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife has facilitated Cash Grant for hundreds of Anambra rural women.
The beneficiaries were part of the women who were given cash grants during the Rural Women Cash Grant Programme held today, February 2, 2021 at the Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, Anambra State.
The programme which was part of the social welfare programme of the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development witnessed turn out of many Anambra women, who received cash grants from officials of the ministry assisted by Liaison Officers of Anambra Central Senatorial District.
Expressing their excitement, Some of the beneficiaries extolled Senator Ekwunife for ensuring that the women of Anambra Central were not left out from the programme.
They lauded her for her giant strides in the Senatorial District.
According to Princess Oby Obi who hails from Dunukofia Local Government, “the cash grant is a huge relief for many families, particularly at this time of economic challenges.”
Princess Obi described Ekwunife as a mother who truly cares. She highlighted her 3-bedroom bungalow project for indigent families, saying that the project shows the humane nature of the woman who has been dubbed by many as Oji Uno Eme Ogo.
Similarly, Okonkwo Ndidi Amaka and other beneficiaries who could not contain their joy described Ekwunife as a representative with a heart of gold.
They wished her success in her ambition to become the next Governor of the State, saying that with her Anambra will experience turn around in infrastructural and human capital development.
