In a swift and deft move to provide needed social amenities and ad way of adding to the aesthetic beauty of the Coal City, the metropolis now gets over 194 modern bus shelters in place of previous ones unfortunately destroyed by hoodlums, during the hijacked #EndSARS protests.
Most bus stops were uprooted, smashed and razed by irate protesters who had hijacked the hitherto peaceful #EndSars protest in the state.
The state government had taken stock of the damages and destruction with a view to rehabilitating same.
The Chairman of Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority (ECTDA), Dr. Josef Umunnakwe Onoh, appreciated Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State for his resilience and expeditious approval for the rebuilding of damaged infrastructure in the state capital.
The new bus stops/shelter which is an admixture of concrete, bricks and aluminium replaces the former metallic construction said to have been brought in as CKD package from South Africa by the Sullivan Chime administration.
