ENDSARS Makes No1 Trend Again On Twitter As Tweeps Ask EFCC To Probe Oba Of Lagos

The hashtag ENDSARS is making the rounds again on Twitter this Thursday with over 60,000 tweets by midday. The recent trend is a reaction to Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, laid the claim that hoodlums during the ENDSARS protests last October stole $2 million and N17 million from his palace. People also asked that the monarch be probed over the claim by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Aqua Lady, a Twitter user, said, “So Oba said they stole 2 million USD from his palace during #EndSARS movement? You kept 2million dollars in cash in your palace. Yet your subjects are suffering from irrecoverable poverty. Even common palliative that belongs to them, you no gree share.”

Ama, another user said, “Oba of Lagos saying #EndSARS hoodlums took 2m dollars and 17 million naira from his house is another reason to make you understand how and why the traditional institute has lost its respect in Nigeria.”

Seun said, “It’s funny that the Oba of Lagos can say with confidence that 2 million dollars and 17 million Naira were stolen from his house during #EndSARS revival movement when it’s wrong! We won’t stop until we collect our country back from these hoodlums.”

Oba Akiolu had said earlier that he had forgiven those who stole from him and appealed to the federal government to assist Lagos State to recover from the destruction caused by the protests.
