Flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 6, Anambra governorship election, Valentine Ozigbo, has promised to fix the Ogboji-Ndiokolo-Ufuma Road in the Orumba area of Anambra State if elected governor.
Ozigbo made the pledge when he visited the severely dilapidated road, which recently suffered erosion that divided the road and made it impassable for motorists who rely on the infrastructure to connect communities like Ndiokpeze, Akpo, and Ajalli areas. While speaking at the erosion site, Ozigbo expressed sadness over the state of the road, promising to fix the important road in memory of the late Edith Nwokedi, an ardent supporter of his candidacy who recently passed on. “It is sad that Anambra’s infrastructure has deteriorated to this level. This road is a major road connecting Orumba South with other communities.
I was born in Orumba South, so fixing this road is personal to me. “I pledge to begin work on this road within the first year of my stay in office. APGA has tried its best, I presume, but its best is grossly inadequate. It is time for PDP to show leadership and ensure that we never experience similar neglect on our roads.” Ozigbo, a multipleaward-winning global CEO, declared. Ozigbo and his team proceeded to Eziagu Village in Ogboji, where they were hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Kelvin and Oby Mezi.
Mrs. Mezi is the Woman Leader of his Youth Movement who serves as the Secretary of the Directorate of Support Groups in the Anambra State PDP Governorship Campaign Organisation. Several leaders in Ogboji Community were present at the ceremony, including Mr. Benneth Okeke, the PDP Chairman in Ogboji Ward; Mrs. Perpetual Nwagbo, the PDP Woman Leader in Ogboji, Chief Michael Obidike and Chief Chukwunike Okeke, who Mr. Obinna Onyeji represented, and a host of PDP members and Ogboji indigenes.
