FCTA championing women’s empowerment – Perm Secretary

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) will continue to ensure that women are empowered to improve the quality of not just their lives but of their families, local communities and entire Federal Capital Territory.

 

Permanent Secretary, Women Affairs Secretariat, FCTA, Hajiya Asmau Muktar, gave the assurance during a visit to the Chief of Kuje, Alhaji Tanko Jibrin.

 

The Permanent Secretary emphasised that empowering women in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) would have a far-reaching impact, not just on the women themselves but on their entire communities.

 

Muktar said that the tour aims to familiarise her with the Women Development Centers owned by the FCT Women Affairs Secretariat, and Chiefdoms across the FCT.

 

She said that by focusing on women’s empowerment, the Secretariat intends to drive positive change and create a ripple effect that strengthen the fabric of society.

 

Her words: “When a woman is empowered, it affects the entire family, so we must empower women to ensure a brighter future.”

 

“One of the major functions of the Women Affairs Secretariat is the formulation of policies and programmes that will guide the welfare of women and children,” she added.

 

The Permanent Secretary also visited the Palaces of Sarkin Jiwa, Sakaruyi of Karu, Chief of Zuba and Sarkin Karshi.

 

Muktar lauded the efforts of the FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for transformative development of the Federal Capital Territory, as well as the proactive leadership being provided by the Secretary, Women Affairs Secretariat, Adedayo Benjamin’s Laniyi.
