The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has concluded plans to establish a Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone in Paikon-Kore Ward, Gwagwalada Area Council.
The Project Coordinator, Dr. Omole Adebisi Olateju, disclosed this during a fact-finding visit to the community alongside his team. He said the project, funded by the Islamic Development Bank, will focus on the livestock value chain — particularly beef production — and will boost economic growth in the area.
“The representatives of the Islamic Development Bank came from Saudi Arabia to inspect the project site, assess progress, and confirm community support for the initiative,” Olateju stated.
He explained that the Agro-Industrial Hub will process crops and livestock products and is expected to attract both local and international investors.
Olateju added that affected residents whose lands fall within the project site would be duly compensated, while farmers and entrepreneurs would receive financial and technical support from the government.
He further disclosed plans to build an abattoir, schools, and hospitals within the zone, ensuring that residents directly benefit from the development.
Also speaking, the District Head of Paikon-Kore, His Royal Highness Ahmed Shangalo, pledged the community’s full support for the project, describing it as a welcome development that will bring jobs and infrastructure to the area.
