Nasarawa State Governor,Engineer Abdullahi A.Sule supervises the commencement of distribution of free fertilizer across the state beginning with Awe LGA.
The fertilizer was provided to the state at NO COST by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and Nasarawa state Government on its part paid the costs of transportation and other charges from various locations in the country to the LGAs to be distributed to farmers.
The 147 wards of the state will receive about 16,000 bags while several other farmers associations, disability groups, religious groups, traditional institutions will also benefit from the free fertilizer. Other LGAs will follow in the course of one week that the distribution will last.
The governor had directed that beneficiaries must be farmers irrespective of political, ethnic or religious affiliation. The selection was done by the traditional council, Chairmen of the LGAs as well as Critical Stakeholders.
Governor Sule after the distribution in Awe moved to Obi LGA.which has 10 wards, received 1000 bags of the commodity with each ward getting 100 bags for its farmers.
In another development,Governor Abdullahi Sule paid an unexpected visit to the new Awe main market site under construction and expressed his displeasure with the slow pace of work .He charges Contractors to speed up work in order to meet up with time for the benefit of the people.
