On Wednesday, Vice President Kashim Shettima said that despite the current state of the economy, the worst is behind us.
Shettima promised that the federal government will create the favorable conditions necessary for them to flourish, hailing the importance that young people and their inventiveness will play in determining Nigeria’s destiny.
At the National Design and Innovation Competition’s official launch on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, he gave a speech.
The vice president said, “The worst is over,” referring to the current state of the economy. He added that as President Bola Tinubu’s administration addresses problems like food security, nutrition, and insecurity, the naira would continue to stabilize in the upcoming weeks and months.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is putting together comprehensive plans to ensure that all security-related issues are resolved.”
Shettima emphasized that young people and creatives hold the key to the future, noting that Nigeria is full with potential and that manufacturing is driven by innovation.
The vice president praised the financial institutions’ support of the creative industry and pledged the federal government’s support for youth aspirations and entrepreneurship.
He also said that young innovators would be a part of the $617.7 million Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (i-DICE) program of the government.
