The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano state, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, has said that the free and compulsory education of the Ganduje administration has stimulated an increase in the state’s school enrollment figure to more than 3.7 million presently
He stated this on Sunday,during a debate organised for five governorship candidates in the state by the Hausa Service of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) at the Aliko Dangote Business School, Bayero University, Kano (BUK).
He stated that out of this estimate, 60 percent were girls, describing it as gladdening and unprecedented.

improve the state’s education sector in the state
He noted that before assumption of office ,the
school enrollment figure was between two million and because of Ganduje’s effort on education it has jack up to over three million
Gawuna, who is also the deputy governor of the state, also promised to build on the successes recorded in the sector by two previous administrations in the state – Shekarau and Kwankwaso administrations as well as the present Ganduje administration, if given the mandate.
He noted that such gains included provision of infrastructure like new classrooms and furniture as well as free and compulsory basic and secondary education as being guaranteed by the Ganduje administration.
The Ganduje administration had surpassed the two preceding governments in terms of education infrastructure, especially building of new classrooms.,Dr.Gawuna said
Commenting on healthcare, the APC candidate said under the Ganduje government, Kano state occupies the number one position in primary healthcare in Northern Nigeria, and the state is also number one in maternal and healthcare, according to the WHO rating.
He promised again to consolidate on these achievements recorded by the Ganduje administration, if elected as the next governor of Kano state.
