Anambra state-based Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Goddosky International Football Club, has expressed its readiness ahead of the kick-off of the 2020/21 season. The club Technical Adviser, Coach Edmond Nduka in a text message said his wards were battle-ready, but pleaded with the management to give priority to officiating if they must have a good season.
Nduka who led his wards to a 1-2 loss to Delta Force at Ogwarshi Ukwu, Delta State in a pre-season match said, his boys outplayed their hosts but lost to bad officiating. “The officiating was really terrible; the referee really messed up the game with indecisive, but rather, induced decisions from the Chairman of Delta Force FC. “I hope we don’t encounter this kind of officiating when the league kicks off properly,” he said.
However, the leadership of league had insisted that it would enforce to the latter guidelines to protect against the spread of COVID-19 as the kick-off date for the League beckons, this is following nine new guidelines sent to its forty -six clubs. Some of the guidelines include, Coronavirus tests for the players and team officials before the commencement of the new season and the tests must be repeated on a monthly basis to ensure continuous check of the novel virus.
Also, all clubs must provide face masks, hand sanitisers and handwashing facility in their various camps and home venues among others. Meanwhile, Nduka stated that the chairman/founder of Goddosky Int’l FC, Chief Godwin Eloka Agbasimelo, has made everything available for the club, adding that the players and officials were set for the COVID-19 tests as directed by the NNL management.
