Gov Bago sends 30 commissioner nominees’ list to Niger Assembly
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has forwarded a list of 30 commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
According to a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, the nominations align with Section 192(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
Bago said the list reflected inclusiveness, competence, and commitment to the “New Niger” agenda, adding that nominees would undergo security screening before approval.
“The selections were based on merit, integrity, and dedication to service. We are consolidating on good governance to build a sustainable Niger State,” the governor stated.
The nominees include Muhammad Qasim Danjuma (Agaie), Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammed (Bida), Barr. Nasiru Muazu (Chanchaga), Prof. Muhammad Yakubu Auna (Magama), and Hadiza Idris Kuta (Shiroro), among others.
