The Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi Anambra State on 27th December, 2023 recorded another great infrastructural transformation as Igwe Orizu ICT centre was commissioned by the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Soludo.
The event which was to celebrate the Igwe of Nnewi,HRH Igwe Kenneth Orizu 111’s 60th year on the throne and also Specially marking his 98th birthday was gracefully attended by members of the cabinet, Obis, former Governor and first female Governor in Nigeria, Dame Virgy Etiaba, TC chairman Nnewi North Local Government Area, Anambra State Engr Chris Obiorah, Honourable Representing Nnewi North Local Government Area, Hon.Augustine Ikedoji, Rev. Father Engr.Chetanna Chukwueke FNSE,Chief Dan. Ulasi,Okosisi Nnewi,Management and Staff of NAUTH and other distinguished personalities.
Speaking at the event, the Governor of Anambra State represented by Transition Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area, Anambra State appreciated the efforts of Igwe Nnewi HRH Igwe Kenneth Orizu and his palace to bring this wonderful edifice to completion and the efforts of chief Medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi Prof Joseph Odirichukwu Ugboaja (OON)Ifeoma Ejiamatu to make NAUTH one of the best in West Africa.
He prayed that God will keep the Monarch and the CMD in good health.
The Chief Medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, Prof Joseph Odirichukwu Ugboaja (OON) Ifeoma Ejiamatu in his address welcomed everyone present to grace the occasion.
He said that the Monarch was at the heart of developing the NAUTH permanent site.
Prof Ugboaja revealed that the Monarch elicited a promise from him “if he eventually becomes the CMD that he will move to permanent site so that he will witness it during his lifetime”
The CMD Prof Joseph Odirichukwu Ugboaja said that HRH Igwe Orizu had been instrumental in organizing people to raise funds required for this project which today to God be the glory had been completed.
He revealed that Igwe Nnewi had made a formal visit to the permanent site not less than five times since he took over the mantle of leadership as the Chief Medical Director of NAUTH.
“It wasn’t easy at all to move to permanent site because of bad roads and other infrastructure but we overcame them all through the Monarch’s continous prayers “he added
In appreciation,Prof Joseph Odirichukwu Ugboaja(OON) named a one kilometer road,one of the largest after HRH Igwe Kenneth Orizu.
He congratulated Igwe on behalf of the management and staff as he celebrates his 60th year on the throne and 98th birthday celebration and prayed that he will continue to be strong and sound in good health.
The former Governor of Anambra State and the first female Governor, Dame Virgy Etiaba appreciated the Igwe and his cabinet seated.
She also commended the CMD for his fruitful efforts to bring the hospital to a forefront.
