Nasarawa State Government has constituted an 11 man high powered Committee to engage the Organised Labour in a dialogue that would end the ongoing strike action.
The Organized Labour in Nasarawa State last Tuesday commenced an indefinite strike to press for better Welfare.
The situation has since grounded Government activities in all Ministries and State Agencies.
In a statement, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Muhammad Ubandoma Aliyu and made available to Newsmen in Lafia, the State Government said the present administration since assumption in Office has done a lot for workers despite the lean resources at its disposal and wondered why the same workers it has tried for have turned to embark on a Strike.
According to the statement, the State Government is not opposed to the strike action embarked upon by the Organized Labour but enjoined them to operate within the confine of the Law.
In the statement, the State Government expressed concerned the action of the Organized Labour by denying workers who are unwilling to join the strike access to their offices and directed Security Agencies to deploy personnel to Man all Ministries, Departments and Agencies in order to maintain Law and Order.
The Statement which further stated that the State Government has also taken a position to seek legal interpretation of the action of the Organized Labour through the Industrial Court, directed Permanent Secretaries to open attendance registers in all Ministries, Departments and Agencies as the government has also resolved to invoke the principles of No-Work-No-Pay”.
It called on the people of the State to remain Law-abiding and continue to be supportive of the policies and programmes of the current Administration.
