Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has forwarded names of 18 persons to the Assembly for confirmation as overseers of development areas.
This was made known by the Speaker of the Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi on Monday during the Legislators seating in Lafia, the State Capital.
According to him, the overseers upon their clearance by the Lawmakers would Mount the leadership positions of their various areas to effect speedy growth at the grassroot level.
Earlier, the leader of the House, Umar Tanko Tunga who presented the Governor’s request to the Members, said the move was in accordance with the provision of the State Local Government Law.
The Governor in the request to the Lawmakers said, “Pursuant to the provision of the Nasarawa State Local Government Law 2018, part XI ( 71), l have the honour to inform the Rt. Honourable Speaker that I have approved the appointment of Overseers of Development Areas in the state, the nomination of the following for confirmation of appointment as Overseers of Development Areas is in line with the provision of the Law”.
Those approved by the Governor for appointment includes, Sadiq Akiri- Azara, Yunusa Amwe- Akwanga West, Bello Akoza- Ekye, Haruna Mohammed- Lafia East, Yahuza Ahmadu Na’ allah- Lafia North, Mohammed Baba Abdullahi- Giza, Dauda Danladi Agbo-Dadare, Luka Ayele-Jenkwe.
Others are, Yusuf Ibrahim Auta- Agidi, Moses Anvah- Akun, Shaibu Umar Loko-Loko, Salihu Adamu- Udege-, Ibrahim Arafat- Karshi, Dr Rabo Dakare- Panda, Yusuf Samson -Gadabuke, Iliyasu Miryam- Umaisha, Adamu- Omale Agye- Agwada and Solomon Bande- Farin Ruwa Development Area.
Meanwhile, the Speaker has directed the appointees to submit 30 copies of their Curriculum Vitae between today and tomorrow as well as appear for screening on Wednesday morning.
