Gov. Sule presents N8.67bn Supplementary Budget to State Assembly

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, on Wednesday sent a Supplementary budget of N8.67 bn to the House of Assembly for consideration and approval.

Speaker of the House, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, stated this when he read the Governor’s request to the Lawmakers during the House proceedings in Lafia, the State Capital.

According to him the supplementary Bill if passed into Law would empower the administration to use the amount therein to complete ongoing projects in the state.

Earlier, the Majority Leader of the House, Tanko Tunga ( APC- Awe North) moved a motion for the bill to scale first and second readings which was Seconded by the Minority Leader, Abel Yakubu Bala ( PDP- Nassarawa Eggon West).

The House unanimously passed the bill into first and second readings after the Member representing Udege/Loko Constituency, Muhammed Okpoku spoke in favour of it.

The Speaker thereafter committed the bill to the House Committee on Finance and appropriation to work on and report back on the Members on October 19, 2021.

It would be recalled that on December 31, 2020, the State Governor Abdullahi Sule signed into Law the 2021 appropriation Bill of N115. 7 billion as passed by the Legislators.
