Some students of the Federal University Lafia College of Agriculture and Education were remembered today by the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdullahi Sule in an unprecedented distribution of palliative care.
Not more than 4000 beneficiaries of the benevolent character of the state governor smiled back to their various abort with bags of rice and cash.
The compassionate move aimed to alleviate the economic hardships faced by Nigerian students.
The Governor distributed 8,000 bags of 7.5kg of rice as palliative support to 4,000 students and also offered a significant sum of twenty million naira (20,000,000) to the university management, which will be disbursed among the beneficiaries.
He disclosed that “Understanding the financial challenges faced by students due to the ongoing economic crisis in Nigeria.
The distribution of 8,000 bags of 7.5kg of rice was to provide sustenance and relief to the students of Federal University of Lafia. The gesture highlights the Governor’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the youth and ensuring their access to basic necessities.
In addition to the rice distribution, Governor Sule reiterated his commitment to supporting the education sector by providing financial assistance to the university.
The Governor further said the donation of twenty million naira (20,000,000) to FuLafia will enable the management to distribute 5,000 naira each to the 4,000 beneficiaries.
According to Engineer Sule ” This monetary aid will help students address their immediate financial needs, allowing them to focus on their studies without the burden of economic hardship.”
In the same vain Governor Sule also distributed 1,000 bags of 7.5kg of rice to students of College of Agriculture, Science and Technology to be shared to 500 beneficiaries along with 5,000 naira each as palliative.
New National Star report that the governor jointly distributed 4,000 bags of rice to 2,000 beneficiaries at the Isa Mustapha Agwai I, Polytechnic IMAP Lafia to help cushion the current economic hardship being experienced.
