Governors reaffirm their dedication to safeguarde people, property

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum, or NGF, has reiterated its commitment to improving subnational property and human security.

The governors made this statement following the statewide demonstration against poverty and inflation that was organized by anonymous organizers in Nigeria.

During the meeting on Wednesday that lasted into the early hours of Thursday, they had a briefing from National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.

For his part, Ribadu committed to helping the governors enhance the subnational security infrastructure.

A statement signed by Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Chairman of the NGF, said, “The National Security Adviser’s (NSA) office briefed the NGF on the current security situation in the country.” The NSA observed the increasing momentum behind a scheduled protest demanding government attention.

In order to enhance subnational security architecture, the NSA is dedicated to assisting the governors. The subnational’s governors expressed gratitude to the National protection Agency (NSA) and reaffirmed their commitment to improving property and person protection.

 

governors from Abia, Kogi, Anambra, Delta, Plateau, Yobe, Imo, Benue, Cross River, Ondo, Zamfara, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Kano, Kwara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Kogi, Lagos, Nasarawa, Oyo, Ogun, and Gombe were in attendance. The Deputy Governors of Borno State’s Enugu were present also.
