Guards Brigade Commander charges troops on discipline, combat readiness and professionalism

Soldier of the Guards Brigade Nigerian Army have been charged to exhibit and showcase high standards of discipline, alertness and readiness to discharge assigned duties at times.

Commander Guards Brigade Nigeran Army, Brigadier General AM Usman gave the charge Monday, at the Opening of the Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers Drill Competition in Abuja.

General Usman who was represented by the Chief of Staff Colonel Peter Oyegoke noted that the event is in compliance with the Nigerian Army forecast of events and Guards Brigade Training Directives.

“Training and retraining are a continuous process in the Nigerian Army which brings out the best standard, discipline, physical fitness, combat survival and team spirit among troops of the Nigerian Army and Guards Brigade in particular.”

The competition which draws participants from all the Guards Battalions will witness Foot Drill, Map Reading, Weapon Handling, and Combat Walk.

The essence of the competition is to enable Units under Command to improve leadership qualities, discipline, and develop the level of initiative and cooperation among Warrant Officers, and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers.

The Competition will further enhance physical fitness of troops of the Brigade, assist Units to assess areas of strength and weakness of the personnel under Command.
