Handover : ALGON President leaves office as council chairman

Following tenure of expiration of council chairmen from Nasarawa State and the State Government through the State Independence Electoral Commission preparedness to conduct LGs election Hon. Aminu Muazu Maifata, the out gone Chairman of Lafia Local Government Area, has officially handed over the council’s affairs to Alhaji Abubakar S. Waziri, the Director of Personnel Management.

Hon. Maifata, who is the National President Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) expressed fulfillment with his achievements, citing various life-impacting projects executed during his tree-year term. He commended the council staff and the community for their unwavering support and understanding, urging them to extend the same courtesy to his successor.

Speakers at the ceremony praised Hon. Maifata’s leadership, acknowledging his contributions to Lafia’s development and wishing him well in his future endeavors.

The highlight of the event was the official handover of documents from Hon. Maifata to Alhaji Waziri.

Hon. Maifata’s tenure was marked by notable initiatives, including enhanced security measures to address kidnappings and other security concerns in Lafia. His commitment to youth empowerment, Education, his commitment to the community’s well-being and development has earned him recognition as a dedicated leader.

A political pundit described the out gone Chairman as a visionary leader with a heart that extend good will to all and sundry.He said as Hon. Maifata passes the baton, the community looks forward to continued progress and growth under new leadership.
