Hardship: Tinubu knows what Nigerians are going through – APC chieftain

A chieftain/pioneer member of the national caucus of the ruling-All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Sam Nkire, said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is aware of the difficulties and hardship Nigerians are going through since the inception of his administration.

Nkire, who stated this in an interview with New National Star in Abuja, said the difficult situation may have been caused by some policies introduced by the administration to stabilize the economy.

The APC chieftain, however, pointed out that some of the policies, such as the removal of the oil subsidy and the floating of the naira, introduced by Tinubu administration were necessary to revive the Nigerian economy.

He maintained that the administration inherited a near-collapsed and comatose economy when it took over power in 2023, adding that it has to introduce the policies to bring the country back on track.

Nkire said although the situation might look disey and difficult at the moment, as Nigerians grapple with the new policy regime, he, however, noted that there is hope at the end of the tunnel, because the citizens would definitely be better for it.

According to him, “All I can say is that Nigerians should be fateful and patient, and give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a chance to do his best.

Everyone knows that the economy all over the world today is not at it’s best. President Tinubu is trying to get Nigeria out of the wood, because Nigeria had already gone into the woods before he took over power.

The economy was a bit difficult for the last administration of former President Muhammad’s Bihari before the coming of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

So, I must confess that it has not been easy, but he is working at it. So, Nigerians should give him sometime, because he has signed a contract for four years and he has just completed one year, and I am sure things will change by the time he goes half way of his four-year tenure.

He is still tinkering with his policies to cushion the pains of the people, because he has so many programmes towards cushioning the hardship.

I believe that in the next four to six months, some of these policies will bring about positive change to the satisfaction of Nigerians.”
