Humanitarian Day: Group to honour Oluremi Tinubu, Governor Zullum, others

As part of the activities to mark the 2024 World Humanitarian Day, a group, Humanitarian Service Diamond Award, has selected the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and the governor of Borno state, Prof. Babagana Umara Zullum, as awardees for this year’s ceremony.

The group also selected the governor of Akwa Ibom state, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, chairman of Oranto Petroleum, Prince Engr. Arthur Eze, chairman, Wells Carlton Hotel & Apartment and founder, Osa Okunbo Foundation, Mr Osahon H. Okunbo, for the awards, as well as Late Captain Hosa Okunbo, who was selected for a posthumous award.

A statement by the convener of the award ceremony, Comrade Nobert Ike, said the First Lady would receive a Lifetime Humanitarian Achievers & Beacon of Hope Award, while Governor Zullum of Borno state would bag a Lifetime Humanitarian Hero Award.

Also, the governor of Akwa Ibom state, would receive the 2024 Humanitarian Governor of the Year Award, while Prince Eze and Mr Okunbo would be honoured with Lifetime Humanitarian Hero Award and Emerging Leader on Philanthropy Award respectively.

The convener explained that the Humanitarian Service Diamond Awards is aimed at recognising individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions to improving lives and advancing positive change in communities across Nigeria.

The statement added that the award ceremony,. which will take place in Abuja this week, would also honour other prominent humanitarian and change makers in the country.
