Hon. Angele Godknows, Chairman of Burutu Local Government Council, Delta State, said his administration had executed legacy projects and human capital development programmes to benefit the people at the grassroots.
Hon. Godknows, in an interview with newsmen on Wednesday, explained that the local government authority system being the third tier of government that is closer to the people at grassroots, the Federal monthly allocations to Burutu council have been properly utilized on execution projects beneficial to the people, government appointees and council workers.
The council boss, further said since assumption as Chairman of the council from his first tenure and now the second term in office he has been enjoying and receiving maximum support and cooperation from the people of Burutu local government area.
”I was elected Chairman by the good people of Burutu local government in my first tenure, and they re-elected me for a second term because of what I have been able to do and achieved in office. And also, because, I understand that the local government system is all about the people at the grassroots, we have ensured that all funds and allocations accruing to Burutu local government are properly used to bring dividends of good governance and democracy to the people, and we have been able to achieve that effectively and efficiently”.
”We have been able to transform Burutu town, being the headquarters of the local government council with projects we embarked on and executed in the town. More so, we hope to do more as the funds are made available”.
Hon. Godknows said he is grateful to God and happy that the people of Burutu local government are feeling the impacts of his administration and also benefiting from projects executed by the govt.
He listed some of the projects executed by his administration as Reconstruction of Area Command building; Building of 3 Bedroom apartment for TLG; Building of 3 Bedroom apartment for HPM; Electrification extension in Odimodi Community; Building of 20 apartments for legislators in Burutu; Renovation and equipping of health centers; employment of over 450 men and women as casual staffs cleaning Burutu town and other communities and monthly empowerment programmes.
The New National Star had reported that Hon. Angele Godknows, Executive Chairman of Burutu Local Government Council, has been tipped to represent Burutu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives come 2023 in view of his uncommon performance and achievements in office.
It was learnt that Hon. Angele Godknows, former Leader of Burutu Legislative Arm, will be given all the necessary support by majority of the leaders, political stakeholders and electorates in Burutu Local Government Area to become the next member to represent the Federal constituency in 2023.
