The Chairman and Chief Executive officer of Ibeto Group, Dr Cletus Madubugwu Ibeto says his firm has entered into partnership with West African Container Terminal (WACT) to build a seaport to be known as Ibeto Port and Terminal.
The seaport which would be sited in Port Harcourt is designed to offer terminal operations, large cargo storage, logistics and marine services delivered by a team of experienced industry professionals.
The seaport is also equipped with modern operational equipment capable of providing uninterrupted operations and speedy handling of different types of Cargo and multi large capacity warehouses.
Dr Ibeto disclosed the plan during a meeting with Nnewi Importers Association at Anaedo, Nnewi, Anambra State at the weekend. He assured them that WACT was known for quality. He said they should not be afraid to patronize their own.
“I started my business at Nkwo Nnewi which I worked for to reach this height.I am honest,I don’t cheat nor dupe people” he added
He said he would invite them to see for themselves what their brother built. Dr Ibeto revealed that 32 ships had been discharged in Ibeto Seaport so far.
He promised to serve them by giving them smooth operations, guaranteed fast delivery and he disclosed that this investment would outlive them if they come together to make it a success.
Dr Ibeto further disclosed that Government has given them approval to accommodate two vessels at the same time.
Dr Humphrey Ngonadi, the Chief Executive Officer of HACO and RICO who spoke during the event called on the importers to support their own.
He categorically stated that with Ibeto their goods would be in safe hand.
“Let’s give him a trial because he is our own” he added
Austin Emmanuel, the Chairman Nnewi Importers Association and also member of Amalgamated Importers Association South East Zone said he would use his position to connect other Importers across the nation to identify with Ibeto Port and Terminal.
Others who spoke during the event were the Customs Officers, Dr D Obiora, Vitalis Ozurumba, Bar. Ezenwa D C in-charge of Ibeto Seaport. They eulogized Dr Ibeto for building this wonderful edifice, urged Nigerians to patronize their own and they also promised that their goods would not be delayed hence they pay their duties.
