Eastern Youths Coalition For Equity on Tuesday in Abuja demand that they be included in the protection of oil pipelines that traversed through the south East geopolitical zone should there will be genuine peace in the region.
National coordinator of the association, comrade Edwin Nkwede who addressed a press conference on the matter said not for the efforts of the coalition in calming down the youths over the non inclusion of members of the region, the situation would have degenerated.
He said there is no better time than now as means the complete marginalization of the Igbo race.
Nkwede further queried why the Olu of Warri who is not a South easterner is being engaged to manage and secure pipelines in the region while capable hands exist in the region.
“The Eastern corridor covers Abia, Imo and Anambra states and should be allowed to be supervised by Igbos” he maintains.
The group further demanded that it is time the only the owners of the region know the terrain and how to block the loops.
