Despite reports that Omah Lay, the popular Bad Influence crooner, has been released from police detention in Uganda, the artiste disputed the rumors and confirmed he was still in detention.
In a recent tweet, Omah Lay said he was in handcuffs alongside Tems, another Nigerian artiste.
“I’m in cuffs in Uganda right now with Tems,” he tweeted via his verified account.
Tems and Omah Lay were both arrested on Sunday evening following an event where they performed in Uganda which the Ugandan police claimed was against the COVID-19 restrictions. Nigerians have called for the release of both artists with the hashtags #FreeOmahLay and #FreeTems on Twitter which has been trending since Sunday evening.
