No fewer than 300 teachers in Anambra state were trained in the fundamentals of Teaching ethics, geared towards improving quality education. The teachers were selected from schools within Njikoka, Anaocha and Dunukofia Federal Constituency.
It was organized by the Member representing the constituency, Hon Fedinand Dozie Nwankwo, in conjunction with the Centre for Ethical and Self Value Orientation (CESVO). Teachers who participated in the 3-Day “Train the Trainers Ethical Teachers Retreat” organized at the various local government Secretariats were drawn from public, private and mission schools across the council area.
Declaring the retreat closed at the Dunukofia Local Government Area Secretariat, Ukpo, Hon Dozie Nwankwo, said he was motivated to attract the programme to upgrade the teachers with needed modern trend and skill to achieve positive results.
He added that it was in line with his determination and commitment to touch the lives of teachers, who spend time nurturing the future generation of professionals for manpower development of the state and the nation in general, adding that time had come for their reward while still alive.
While pledging to sustain the programme, he enjoined participants to step down what they learnt in their various schools for the advancement of knowledge and effective teaching and learning. He, then, disclosed that the Information Communication Technology(ICT) Centre, is sponsored by him at Enugwu-Ukwu, near Awka for youth empowerment and knowledge-driven digital space would soon be commissioned for use.
