Indigenous firm introduces technology to reduce challenges in welding industry

An indigenous company, WhiteCloud TVET Solutions, said it has introduced Soldamatic Technology,, to address the challenges of training in the welding industry in Nigeria.

President of the group, Mr Oluranti Jasper Netufo, who disclosed this during a staff training workshop by Seabery, said with the latest technology, WhiteCloud is set to revolutionise the welding industry in the country.

Netufo revealed that he was introduced to Soldamatic Technology in Spain, adding that he has equally signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with Seabery to bring the technology to Nigeria.

Speaking further on the last day of a 3-day Train The Trainer Workshop, organised for staff of WhiteCloud TVET Solutions, he stated that the technology would revolutionise the welding industry in Nigeria, and encourage patronage from young people, who would begin to view welding as a lucrative career path.

The president of the group maintained that with the introduction of Soldamatic Technology, the youth would be encouraged to embrace welding as a career which would boost employment and impact positively on the nation’s economy .

He added that this would definitely happen because the industry had, before now, suffered dearth, because of the dangers and challenges associated with the practice of welding in Nigeria.

Also speaking, the regional manager of Seabery, Mr Abdenor Edouieb, point out that the welding industry has many potentials because it is very crucial to various sectors such as, construction, automotive, Aerospace as well as oil and gas.

Edouieb, who is in Nigeria to conduct training on how to utilise Soldamatic Technology by welders, said that it is a welcome solution that has addressed the high cost and safety concerns involved in the training of welders.

He explained that the Soldamatic Technology is used basically for training, while conducting a practical session for participants, adding that it is a virtual platform that helps trainees to practice with no wastage, hazards,, as well points out errors to that help minimize wastage and boost productivity.

The only female participants among the trainees, Miss Favour Ogudu, said Soldamatic Technology is a cutting-edge technology that has been endorsed by many countries in the world, which they use to train their citizens and build their economies.

Ogudu, who is a welding engineering graduate from Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi- Uku, said that she was motivated to go into the industry through her father who is a welder.

She called on Nigerian youths, who are thinking of migrating because of perceived lack of opportunities in the country to have a rethink because with Soldamatic Technology, opportunity abounds.
