Dr Lukman Olawoyin, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ilorin, on Saturday advised the Federal Government to invest more in education.
He told newsmen in Ilorin that increased investment in education would inculcate positive behavioural attitude in beneficiaries and dissuade more youths from going into crime.
Olawoyin teaches at the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences of the university.
He noted that low level of education and outright illiteracy had driven many youths into criminality without minding the effect on society.
He also urged government to invest more in agriculture by giving incentives to real farmers to be able to produce more food.
He noted that when people had enough to eat, there would be less agitation and vices would reduce substantially.
Olawoyin urged youths to participate more actively in politics, stressing that nothing prevented them from contesting any political position.
