International Women’s Day, Peter Obi Hails Nigerian women.

“We value the tenacity and selfless sacrifices of our Nigerian women, who despite the numerous difficulties confronting our country, never lose hope for a better future for our country.

According to a Country Meters report, women make up 49.4% of Nigeria’s total population. If given sufficient authority, such a sizable number will make a substantial contribution to the advancement of our country.

“The best way to empower everyone, especially our ladies, is still via education. Sadly, concerns about Nigeria’s low female school enrollment have persisted.

According to UNICEF, over half of Nigerian girls do not attend basic education, which is the most crucial level of education. Girls make up around 7.6 million of the approximately 18 million children who are not in school.

Every year on March 8, we celebrate International Women’s Day.

Peter Obi celebrated women’s history by praising the tenacity, fortitude, and selflessness of Nigerian women in the face of numerous obstacles facing their country. He was among many people throughout the world who shared this sentiment.

“I like, therefore, to use this unique day to join the international community in celebrating women all over the world,” stated the former governor of Anambra State. Procreation is possible in the world because of them.

“On this particular day, I would especially like to honor Nigerian women whose invaluable contributions to our country have had a lasting and significant influence on our progress and advancement.

In order to raise a generation of strong, successful women who will support the advancement, peace, and prosperity of our country, these issues must be resolved.

“I have consistently spoken in favor of widespread female participation in governance. Our beloved ladies have persisted in making a name for themselves in positions of authority and public service. If they have more chances, I think they’ll accomplish more.

“Unfortunately, political participation of women in governance has remained very low, despite the National Gender Policy, which demands 35 per cent involvement of women in all governance processes,” Obi remarked in support of women’s participation in government.

According to reports, only over 10% of the almost 15,000 candidates running for various elective seats in the 2023 elections were women. Therefore, more opportunities for women to participate actively in governance must be provided.

“Our women’s entrepreneurial spirit will have a significant impact on our economic development if it is supported and fostered. There are over 23 million female entrepreneurs in the SME sector in Nigeria, where women hold 41% of microbusinesses. With the right support, these women may help us transition from a consumer to a producer.

Therefore, our road to the New Nigeria becomes much more feasible when we unite with our women. Greetings for International Women’s Day.
