IPAC ex-chair Ameh cautions Wike, You’ll pay for your deeds

Chief Peter Ameh, a former Publicity Secretary of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) and Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), has criticized Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike for his remarks made recently regarding the 2027 election.

Ireti Kingibe, a senator representing the FCT, would not run for office in the National Assembly again in 2027, Wike said, highlighting one of the projects in the region.

Ameh reminded the outgoing governor that, in contrast to Rivers State, where he used to have the upper hand, things were always different in Abuja.

“I saw an episode where they were setting up a Mabushi parking lot for use. I observed Wike blocking off a parking lot. What kind of world does anyone flag off parking lots?

It appears to be at a very basic level of government. They were cheering him on as he took advantage of the occasion to criticize a Federal Republic senator who was in office in the same spot. Ameh added, “He made statements that diminished the senator’s personality.”

“Self-promotion is not the purpose of governance. Although many of these roads are already in terrible shape, Wike brags about doing roadwork.

“There are still some unfinished roads in places like Nyanya, Karu, Karishi, Kubwa, and Gwagwalada. Even the ones he finished are not perfect.

“He amassed nearly 1.2 trillion naira, but Nigeria lacks accountability, so people are unaware of what’s happening.” In addition, he raised an additional 98 billion naira for ongoing initiatives.

The Apo-Karshi Road was not finished when he lived. There isn’t any building going on right now. Nevertheless, he is disparaging a senator who was chosen by the people and bragging that the senator won’t be back in 2027.

“Wike disregards the fact that others performed admirably before him and refrained from disparaging elected officials.” Voting is based on performance in the multicultural and metropolitan core of FCT.

“Wike lost both Rivers State and his own local government before he manipulated the results. He served as governor and minister for eight years. Why does he believe he will win the FCT? People are not fooled by threats in the same manner that he attempts to scare the senator.

“I hold other senators and Labour Party leaders accountable for their failure to unite and voice their opposition to Wike as one. They must call a news conference and inform him that he is not allowed to mismanage public resources and rule the nation.

“He cannot use derogatory language to insult the electorate while standing on a stage.” Within a democracy, this is unacceptable. He continued, “Those who are cheering for him to flag off a parking lot ought to consider how government functions in countries like Egypt or South Africa, where ministers don’t act in this manner.
