ISWAP attacks Borno military base, killing soldiers  destroying equipment

An attack on a military base in Borno State’s Damboa Local Government Area has resulted in at least four verified deaths and multiple injuries. Fighters from the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) carried out the attack on Sunday night.

The settlement of Warja, which is located between Sabon Gari and Damboa, was the target of the terrorists on motorcycles. They overran the military installation, burning military vehicles and equipment and killing personnel. A security source claims that the assailants looted munitions from the base and destroyed a number of armored equipment, including personnel carriers and tanks.

Several operating cars were burned in the aftermath of the attack, and the terrorists fled with a lot of weaponry, according to security expert Zagazola Makama.

According to a Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) source, the attackers overran the base’s staff after arriving in significant numbers.
