“It is untrue”, NNPCL responds to Mele Kyari’s dismissal as Group CEO

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, NNPCL, has denied claims that its Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, has been sacked by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Following the suspension of the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele on Friday, there was conjecture on social media on Saturday that the NNPCL Group CEO has been relieved of his duty.

Reacting to the news in a telephone call with Daily Post, the NNPCL’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Garba Deen Muhammad, claimed it is untrue.

According to him, “it is the handiwork of mischief markers.”

Although, as of the time of filing this report, no official statement has been issued from the Office of the President and NNPC Limited.

Therefore, Mele Kyari is still the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation NNPC Limited.
