Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Patrick Aghamba, and his wife have regained freedom after spending a day in the kidnappers den.
The duo were kidnapped last Friday while traveling to Abuja to attend Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s daughter’s wedding.
Aghamba’s aide, ABK Offiah, who was traveling with them, was shot dead by the gunmen.
Comfirming the release, Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to Governor Soludo, stated that Aghamba and his wife were released Saturday night.
He also confirmed that no ransom was paid for their release.
Aburime stated that the release was achieved through divine intervention.
“The commissioner and his wife have been released by the special grace of God. We were able to secure his release. No ransom was paid,” he explained.
Meanwhile,former Managing Director of Anambra State Broadcasting Service, Uche Nworah, on his Facebook page, said: “Great news. Kidnapped Anambra Youth Commissioner Aghamba and his wife have been released. To God be the glory.”
