JUST IN: Hoodlums abduct, kill Anambra APGA youth leader

Hoodlums have reportedly  killed a youth leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State, Emeka Alaehobi .
 A family source who confided in our correspondent said, ” Emeka  was abducted from his home in Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state two days ago, but no ransom was known to have been made, until his remains were found on Saturday morning in a neighbouring town in Utuh.
“He was the Nnewi South APGA local government youth leader.This morning his remains were found dumped at Utuh Junction.”
The Anambra State Police  Public Relations Officer, Ikenga  Tochukwu, who confirmed that a corpse was discovered in the area on Saturday, was unable to ascertain the identity of the corpse.
The PPRO said: “When our operatives got to the scene, the corpse had been removed by some persons, we are yet to identify, and we have also not ascertained that the corpse was that of the youth leader.”
Ukpor, the headquarters of Nnewi South Local Government Area has remained a flashpoint in the state for sometimes.
The council headquarters had at several times been attacked, same for the police division in the area.
The state government at the weekend recorded successes in its fight against criminal elements in the state as a joint security operatives stormed a house in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area, which was a hideout for criminals, and also a place were kidnap victims are kept in wait for ransom. The house was demolished, and some suspects arrested, while three kidnap victims, including a priest were rescued.
