Out of the 70 fire occurrences that were reported in the state in January, the Kano State Fire Service was able to preserve 25 lives and property valued at N95 million.
This was disclosed in a statement made in Kano on Tuesday by Mr. Saminu Abdullahi, the agency’s public relations officer for the state.
According to Abdullahi, during that time, a fire damaged property valued at N40 million and claimed the lives of two people.
He continued, “The service responded to nine rescue calls and eleven false alarms from state residents.”
He warned everyone to use caution when handling fire, especially in the harmattan season.
